FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 12, 2019
Montreal, Quebec| Totum Tech Inc., the company devoted to overcoming the effects of hidden disabilities, will participate in the 2019 Canadian Export Challenge (CXC) on 2019 Global Entrepreneurs Cohort. CXC is a 1-day global accelerator and pitch competition tour presented by Startup Canada, in collaboration with UPS, Export Development Canada, and the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service.
As a member of the Global Entrepreneur Cohort, Totum Tech will pitch to win $2,500 and an expense-paid trip to Toronto for CXC’s final showdown, where they will face-off against representatives from across Canada to win an additional $25,000 and up to $100,000 in in-kind scaling support.
When asked why Totum Tech was pitching at CXC, CEO Maria Julia Guimaraes had this to say, “There are hundreds of millions of people with hidden disabilities in the world who have no support whatsoever for their conditions. We have to go global if we’re going to provide help and services to all of these people. The CXC gives us a chance to do just that!”
“As the most connected G7 country with the greatest ease of doing business, Canadian entrepreneurs have a global advantage out of the starting gate,” said Victoria Lennox, Co-Founder, and President of Startup Canada. We are thrilled to see companies like Totum Tech in the Global Entrepreneur Cohort and we aim to provide them with an increase in export-readiness, accelerated access to global markets, and support to ‘own the podium’ globally.”
Totum Tech Inc. was founded in 2018 in Canada by three technologists who all have to cope with hidden disabilities. As a company, Totum Tech puts together the founders’ professional skills and personal experiences to design and build devices and services to deal with the effects of invisible handicaps, and is a proud graduate of the District 3 Innovation Center acceleration program.
